Baby its cold outside...

Cold is an understatement...it's freezing outside! With some of the coldest weather in years forecast for the next few months, keeping warm is a necessity. However adverse the weather, I refuse to deter from my life motto- of fashion first - what's the point in being cold AND looking bad?

I have scoured the shops to find you guys and girls the best in winter warmer's - there is no excuse to freeze OR be badly dressed!

The key to keeping cosy is LAYERING. The worst thing you can do is wear one big fat jumper - 3 or 4 thinner layers that can be taken on/off depending on where you are, will work best!

For the Girls

New Look has some great basics at even greater prices. Mix cable-nit cardies with basic tees and accessories with printed scarves!

Vera Moda has some great on-trend camel coloured jumpers - put a fur gilet on top and you have winter chic.

Layer tights with leggings and then some knee high socks to keep you legs warm and looking good!

For the Boys

Cable-nit for the boys is bang on trend too! Topshop has some chunky cardigans that ooze cool - not cold!

River Island's checked shirts are great for layering over long tee's with jeans and converse.

Guys look HOT in beanies so keep the top of your head warm (its the place where you lose the most heat!)

Selena Gomez wearing my ASOS dress!

Selena Gomez is wearing the same ASOS dress as me at the Grammy Nominations concert in LA on 1st December - AFTER I'd worn it to my NatMag party!

Just to remind you again of me wearing it...

Merry Christmas From the Kardashians!

If there's any family that can get away with sending a Christmas Greeting Card that looks like this - its the Kardashians! If my family looked like that I would make greetings cards for every festival around! (no offence family - your all beautiful to me)

One of the most stylish families ever - even little Mason looks fabulous! Loving the 50's vintage feel too! I hope my cards in the post...

X Factor Final!

Last night Matt Cardle was crowned the winner of X Factor 2010! My boys One Direction came 3rd and the beautiful Liverpudlian Rebecca was runner-up! This year was most definitely the strongest year yet with the best final weekend ever! Saturday night was my favourite episode to date. Matt duetted with Rihanna singing her hit Unfaithful, while Rebecca sung Christina Aguilera's Beauitful with the star herself. One D were paired up with Robbie Williams and sang my favourite Robbie song She's the one. Finally Cher duetted with Will.I.Am (what a surprise) and sang a remix of Where is the love and I got a feelin'.

Lots if tears, tantrums and controversy made this year the best X Factor yet!

The style showdown

Saturday

This white dress drowns Cheryl and finished with that slick back hair its all a bit of a no no!

Absolutely love Danni in this red dress - elegant and understated can work!
 Sunday

Dannii's Jenny Packham dress was definitely a winner's dress!

Cheryl looked on fire in this red hot J Mendall gown!
Th final's fashion was undoubtedly some of the best of the series. Dannii pulled out all the stops and was the winner of the weekend in more ways then one! However the points for this week still don't help her as Cheryl still wins by 3 points (final score 6-3!)

Well done Ms Cole - you may have lost your touch as a mentor but your still our favourite fashionista :)

That's it for the 2010 X Factor :(

I have no excuse to stay in on a Saturday night any more, at least my social life will improve!

Good luck to my favourite boys One Direction who ill be keeping a very close eye on - and obviously bringing you all the news! xxx

Tips for wearing black lace

- Long lace sleeves will keep away the chill and ooze femininity
- Keep accessories to a minimum: a cocktail ring or pearls for a more classic look
- Add red lips for instant glamour or nude lips for an elegant finish
- Keep shoes simple; a patent peep toe or round toe platform will work best!
- Finally, enjoy the attention

X Factor Fashion Week 9

The Semi Finals - and probably the best X factor Semi Final to date! Was the toughest week to pick someone to leave - but I'm glad it was Mary. Her time was definitely up!

Special mention to One Direction - hearing their name called first was quite possibly the happiest moment of my life to date! I absolutely LOVED their version of  Rihanna's 'only girl in the world'...Zayn if your reading - I will be your only girl in the world!!

The singing was the best yet but what was the style up to semi final standard?

The style showdown

Saturday

Looks like Cheryl's been reading my blog - white dress with black accessories and red lips... stunning!

Not too sure how i feel about Dannii's Aurelio Costarella gown, its pretty and elegant but kinda looks like a nightie...

Sunday

Black AGAIN for the results show! Okay Dannii seriously -THERE ARE OTHER COLOURS! I like the top half of this dress but not feeling the bottom!

Absolutely adore Ms C's asymmetrical animal print mini! I actually gasped when she walked on last night!

Cheryl is back to being the fabulous fashionista we all know and love! This week she did it again and is increasing her lead to 6 - 2! Next week is finals and the finals fashion is sure to be the best yet!

Dreaming of a white Christmas...

No, i don't mean the snow covered kind - although we have that already!

I'm talking about The LWD... The Little White Dress. In comparison to its enemy the LBD, the LWD is difficult to wear and brings out ALL of your imperfections! On the plus side, wear it well and it is the coolest colour this Christmas!

Celebs love a bit of white too:

Cheryl Cole

Jessica Alba

Selena Gomes

Here are my fave white dresses on the high street:

Top Tips for wearing a white dress:

- most importantly wear nude or black underwear NOT WHITE!
- toughen it up by wearing black accessories or a black leather jacket a la Ms Cole (above)
- add red lips for instant sex appeal
- keep the dress loose if its short (unless you have the body of a goddess)
- accessorize with gold instead of silver to make the outfit look more expensive!
- stay away from the red wine!

Follow these tips and you'll be sure to look all white on the night ;) xxx

The National Magazine Company 100th Birthday party and awards!

Working for the biggest publishing house in the UK definitely has its perks! With brands such as Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar AND Men's Heath, NatMags is top for sure.

Last night we celebrated a 100 years of success in the publishing industry with a fabulous night kicking off with a cocktail hour with pampering from bare minerals cosmetics and lots of champagne!
The 4 course dinner was exquisite, and then came the much awaited awards. Hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall the ceremony was an huge success - Well Done to all the winners!

Next guests were treated to a surprise performance from Olly Murs (who i have to admit is quite dashing in the flesh). Heres a sneak peak of his performance!

The dress code was Evening Glamour and everyone looked fabulous! Check out some pics below of my beautiful team!

This morning we were all treated to a hangover breakfast of sausage, egg and bacon sarnies (as well as the bday cake from last night) Love NatMags! xxx

Justin Bieber, Siva from The Wanted, Nicole Scherzinger AND Zayn singing and dancing as if the weekend couldn't get any better....on top of that, to put the icing on the yummy cake - WAGNER'S GONE!

Finally the world is back to some normality. Next week is the Semi Finals and all of my faves are still in!

Cheryl lost one of her girls but did she win the style showdown this week?

Style Showdown

Saturday

Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl.... you are officially back! The hair, the make-up and the Emilio Pucci dress....love love love!

Dannii is beautiful in this Carla Zampatti red dress! I'm loving the colour on her!

Sunday

This gold metallic Gianfranco Ferre gown with Louboutins is FABULOUS!

Dannii looks nice in this Halston halterkneck dress but its black...YET AGAIN!
Both women looked stunning on each night and that definitely hasn't happened in a while! Keep it up ladies! With the semi's next week they've got to pull out all the stops! Cheryl's double dose of glam and glitz wins her the points this week, making her 5 - 2 up!

My Outfit at the AMA's launch

I've had lots of people asking me where my dress was from at the last night's UK AMA's press launch party. This sparkly little number is from one of my fave brands Liquorish!
For those of you who liked the beautiful Songstress Jasmin's outfit, I styled her in an ASOS black sequin, dusty pink dress which she wore with some killer black patent peep toes from New Look (not shown in pic) Her make up was done by the fabulous Ritika Kher! How hot does she look?! xxx

UK AMA Press Launch Party @ Alto

The UK Asian Music Awards sponsored by Lebara Mobile had its 2011 press launch party at the exquisite west end club Alto last night. The only ceremony truly celebrating the accomplishments of British Asians in the music industry as well as providing a platform for their unquestionable talent.

The event was fabulously organised by Media Moguls and hosted by Voodoo Entertainment; everything ran impressively smoothly (well as smoothly as show business can!) They insured the crème of the media crop were there including B4U and Desi Hits.

The night was a great opportunity for established and successful musicians to meet the up and coming superstars of the industry. There were fantastic performances from urban Desi artist Parichay, the one and only Juggy D (who performed his amazing new track The Panjabi Rockstar - LOVE IT!),  the multi-talented and beautiful Sonna Rele (http://www.myspace.com/sonnarele) AND Asian download chart topper Foji.

It was exciting to see lots of new talent, promising to take British Asians to even greater achievements. Uber talented Singer/Songwriter Jasmin (http://www.myspace.com/JasminOfficial) and the uniquely gifted rapper Vigilante (http://www.myspace.com/vigilantesl) are definitely 2 acts to keep your eye on (you heard it here first!)

The event wasn't just for musicians; models, actors, photographers and more were also able to showcase themselves and network in the best environment!

After all the interviews and the launch, the official after party kicked off in style. As expected the top London DJ's were on the decks keeping the party going till the early hours. The Senator, DJ Kayper, DJ H, DJ AMS, DJ Harvey and DJ RUGRAT (www.djrugrat.com) did not disappoint!

The launch was a fantastic night to remember, made me so proud to be a British Asian!
I for one cannot wait for the award ceremony in March!

Pictures and videos from the night coming soon xxx

The worlds most expensive advent calender!

Ever since I can remember I've had an advent calender. It doesn't feel like Christmas until there is a cheap box of cardboard filled with the plainest chocolate ever hanging on the wall by the tree. Usually from Woolies but when it closed down the Sainsbury's one was a good enough substitute. Chocolate shaped Disney characters or Christmas decorations; a different one each day of December up until the 25th! I remember my brother and I started off sharing one, we'd each take alternate days. One day I ate my brothers piece by accident... total uproar. From then on we had separate ones (I knew it would work!)

This year I was researching advent calenders, thought I might treat myself to one for work - something to look forward to on the cold mornings! That's when I came across this beauty, the $1million (£618000 - but sounds better in dollars!) advent calendar in Harrod's. When you open up this Porsche design calendar you will be in for a surprise! With gifts including a Porsche design kitchen, a speedboat and 18 carat gold sunglasses, this advent calendar is far from tacky!

Only 5 of these made - get yours now?

The American Music Awards 2010

A night of music, fashion, outstanding performances and tears? Yes that's right and you will never guess who from... Mr. 8701 himself! Usher admitted to shedding a few tears when his protégé Justin Bieber won the award for Artist of the year. Bieber was the man of the night winning 4 gongs in total, including favourite male and favourite album in the pop/rock category. Eminem won the same 2 awards for rap/hip hop music section, and its pretty safe to say no-one cried at that!

AMA Fashion never really disappoints, here are my faves this year:

I absolutely love this girl and I love this dress - on anyone else this would be a total no no but Nicki looks FABULOUS. when questioned about the dress the 'Your Love' singer said 'This dress it the epitome of Pink Friday. This is the dress version of my album.'

Jada looks like amazing in this Emilio Pucci dress...Love the metal breastplate; proof that style hurts!
Not to be outdone by her mother Willow rocks a unique get-up which is not my cup of tea but definitely credit for creativity!

Love Rihanna in this Elie Saab blood red gown...and the curly hair is LUSH!

Mrs. Brand is stunning in Badgley Mischka

Fergie is not usually on the best dressed list but this dress by Asian designers Falguni and Shane is my fave of the night!
