Festival SOS

So festival season is here - whether your going to Isle of White, Hackney or Wireless (like meeeeee - eeekkk can't wait!) you're sure to need an amazeballs wardrobe. When decided on festival attire, especially in this country, there are several things you need to think about: weather, comfort, practicality and of course stylishness.

Opt for layering as the weather is so unpredictable, shorts and a crop top are a definite must. Add some printed tights, an arm full of bangles and some ankle boots for a perfect look in all conditions!

Here are some of my fave picks from the high street:

River Island for Shorts

Tights at Topshop

Union Jack Sheer Tights

Tie Dye Opaque Tights

Microdot Point Footless Tights

Maybe pack a cool cover up (just in case)...

The Blog Reloaded: I'm Back Bitches.

Hello World.

Wow, It's been a while (117 days to be precise) since I blogged for you people... I was quite nervous about writing again - I thought I might've lost my mojo. But the minute I logged in I felt like I’d never been away - Slightly dramatic? Probably.

So anyway, why have I been a total slacker? Many have asked the question and I give everybody the same answer:

I always wanted to make sure my blog was different from the rest and I started to find that, like many other fashion blogs out there, I was writing about the same things as everybody else (obviously in my own unique and amazing style). People don't want to read about who wore what at the Oscars, or who dressed better on x factor on 10 different blogs do they? I then made the bold decision that I wouldn't blog unless it was about something different and specific to me.

During my break from the blogging scene I still kept up to date with all my fave blogs as well as reading lots (and lots) of new ones. It seems like every '20 something female' (as they like to be known - why can't you just give your real age?!) has a blog now, but they’re all doing the same thing. Blogging about their daily lives, where they go out and what nail varnish they wear. As interesting as these things are, a diary like blog is just not for me.

* If for some strange reason you would like to know what I eat, where I eat it and how full it makes me feel then follow me on twitter and stalk me properly (@ bella_alamode) *

As the initial reason for my blog was for my styling, I’m going to keep my blog about myself and fashion (hence the name) and the only time I will mention food is if somebody is wearing it!

I haven’t been a complete lazy ass for the last 3 months, I’ve actually been working on several projects that I can’t wait share with you all! Firstly I did an amazing shoot for Criminal Clothing and House of Fraser for their Spring 2012 collection, I’ve also been working on my website (which I promise is coming soon) and the most exciting venture of all is a new business I am starting with my cousin – we will be launching our first collection soon and you will be the first know (and purchase :D)

I’ve let you know I am alive now so you can call off the search party J ha ha.

Hasta La Vista Amigos ;)

Versace for H & M

Designer collaborations for the High Street are a big trend right now; there's been Valentino for Gap, Missoni for Target and Jill Sandler for Uniqlo. Some have been great and others failed to deliver but there is one high street store that has delivered the best collabs by far - H & M. With brands such as Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin and Jimmy Choo designing collections for H & M, the Swedish retail has come out on top. it has outdone its self with each collection and just when you thought the collabs couldn't get any bigger, Italian power house Versace got involved!

Versace has been resposible for dressing some of the biggest names from around the world.

Lady Gaga

Missy Elliot

Jessica Alba

And who can forget, the moment that turned ' Jenny from the block' into J-LO way back in 2000...
Jennifer Lopez

Not sure anyone else could pull of a plunging, sheer green dress or a purple suit like Missy (or that we would want to) we can however add a little Versace to our autumn/winter wardrobe!

The new collection is reminicent of the naughty ninties. Think bright coloured prints, simple structured shapes lots of edge!

Here are some of my fave peices...

There's even some for the braver males out there...

The Autumn/Winter collection hits 300 stores across the UK on November 17th.

London Fashion Week S/S 2012

This weekend was the opening weekend of London Fashion Week and as usual it did not disappoint. Most of you, like myself are probably never going actually buy a piece from any of the catwalk shows but that doesn't mean you dont need to to know all the best details! The high street is inspired by designers and so knowing all the LFW must haves means you can bag all the copies and be totally on trend each season (for a fraction of the cost!)

After an amazing weekend in Valencia I have spent all morning checking out the coverage to pick out my fave collections!

Topshop Unique

Since the launch of this brand, each collection just gets better!

Absolutely LOVE all the gold and abstract prints!

Ashish

The bold colours, sequins and dramatic floral print - whats not to adore about Ashish?

Its Burberry Prorsum today at 4pm - can't wait!

That 70's Show

No, I'm not talking about the 90's hit - I'm talking about the biggest trend on the high street this Autumn.

Think velvet, sequins and faux fur to 'groove' up your style!

Key pieces include wide leg trousers, knee high boots and a faux fur coat. All in bright colours - think playful and eclectic!

Heres a pick of my fave 70's buys...

Sequin Palazzo's - Dorothy Perkins
Fur Gilet - Topshop

Suede boots - topshop

Blue bootleg trousers - Asos
Velvet dress - Warehouse
