The National Magazine Company 100th Birthday party and awards!

Working for the biggest publishing house in the UK definitely has its perks! With brands such as Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar AND Men's Heath, NatMags is top for sure.

Last night we celebrated a 100 years of success in the publishing industry with a fabulous night kicking off with a cocktail hour with pampering from bare minerals cosmetics and lots of champagne!
The 4 course dinner was exquisite, and then came the much awaited awards. Hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall the ceremony was an huge success - Well Done to all the winners!

Next guests were treated to a surprise performance from Olly Murs (who i have to admit is quite dashing in the flesh). Heres a sneak peak of his performance!

The dress code was Evening Glamour and everyone looked fabulous! Check out some pics below of my beautiful team!

This morning we were all treated to a hangover breakfast of sausage, egg and bacon sarnies (as well as the bday cake from last night) Love NatMags! xxx

X Factor Fashion Week 8

Justin Bieber, Siva from The Wanted, Nicole Scherzinger AND Zayn singing and dancing as if the weekend couldn't get any better....on top of that, to put the icing on the yummy cake - WAGNER'S GONE!

Finally the world is back to some normality. Next week is the Semi Finals and all of my faves are still in!

Cheryl lost one of her girls but did she win the style showdown this week?

Style Showdown

Saturday

Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl.... you are officially back! The hair, the make-up and the Emilio Pucci dress....love love love!

Dannii is beautiful in this Carla Zampatti red dress! I'm loving the colour on her!

Sunday

This gold metallic Gianfranco Ferre gown with Louboutins is FABULOUS!

Dannii looks nice in this Halston halterkneck dress but its black...YET AGAIN!
Both women looked stunning on each night and that definitely hasn't happened in a while! Keep it up ladies! With the semi's next week they've got to pull out all the stops! Cheryl's double dose of glam and glitz wins her the points this week, making her 5 - 2 up!

My Outfit at the AMA's launch

I've had lots of people asking me where my dress was from at the last night's UK AMA's press launch party. This sparkly little number is from one of my fave brands Liquorish!
For those of you who liked the beautiful Songstress Jasmin's outfit, I styled her in an ASOS black sequin, dusty pink dress which she wore with some killer black patent peep toes from New Look (not shown in pic) Her make up was done by the fabulous Ritika Kher! How hot does she look?! xxx

UK AMA Press Launch Party @ Alto

The UK Asian Music Awards sponsored by Lebara Mobile had its 2011 press launch party at the exquisite west end club Alto last night. The only ceremony truly celebrating the accomplishments of British Asians in the music industry as well as providing a platform for their unquestionable talent.

The event was fabulously organised by Media Moguls and hosted by Voodoo Entertainment; everything ran impressively smoothly (well as smoothly as show business can!) They insured the crème of the media crop were there including B4U and Desi Hits.

The night was a great opportunity for established and successful musicians to meet the up and coming superstars of the industry. There were fantastic performances from urban Desi artist Parichay, the one and only Juggy D (who performed his amazing new track The Panjabi Rockstar - LOVE IT!),  the multi-talented and beautiful Sonna Rele (http://www.myspace.com/sonnarele) AND Asian download chart topper Foji.

It was exciting to see lots of new talent, promising to take British Asians to even greater achievements. Uber talented Singer/Songwriter Jasmin (http://www.myspace.com/JasminOfficial) and the uniquely gifted rapper Vigilante (http://www.myspace.com/vigilantesl) are definitely 2 acts to keep your eye on (you heard it here first!)

The event wasn't just for musicians; models, actors, photographers and more were also able to showcase themselves and network in the best environment!

After all the interviews and the launch, the official after party kicked off in style. As expected the top London DJ's were on the decks keeping the party going till the early hours. The Senator, DJ Kayper, DJ H, DJ AMS, DJ Harvey and DJ RUGRAT (www.djrugrat.com) did not disappoint!

The launch was a fantastic night to remember, made me so proud to be a British Asian!
I for one cannot wait for the award ceremony in March!

Pictures and videos from the night coming soon xxx

The worlds most expensive advent calender!

Ever since I can remember I've had an advent calender. It doesn't feel like Christmas until there is a cheap box of cardboard filled with the plainest chocolate ever hanging on the wall by the tree. Usually from Woolies but when it closed down the Sainsbury's one was a good enough substitute. Chocolate shaped Disney characters or Christmas decorations; a different one each day of December up until the 25th! I remember my brother and I started off sharing one, we'd each take alternate days. One day I ate my brothers piece by accident... total uproar. From then on we had separate ones (I knew it would work!)

This year I was researching advent calenders, thought I might treat myself to one for work - something to look forward to on the cold mornings! That's when I came across this beauty, the $1million (£618000 - but sounds better in dollars!) advent calendar in Harrod's. When you open up this Porsche design calendar you will be in for a surprise! With gifts including a Porsche design kitchen, a speedboat and 18 carat gold sunglasses, this advent calendar is far from tacky!

Only 5 of these made - get yours now?

The American Music Awards 2010

A night of music, fashion, outstanding performances and tears? Yes that's right and you will never guess who from... Mr. 8701 himself! Usher admitted to shedding a few tears when his protégé Justin Bieber won the award for Artist of the year. Bieber was the man of the night winning 4 gongs in total, including favourite male and favourite album in the pop/rock category. Eminem won the same 2 awards for rap/hip hop music section, and its pretty safe to say no-one cried at that!

AMA Fashion never really disappoints, here are my faves this year:

I absolutely love this girl and I love this dress - on anyone else this would be a total no no but Nicki looks FABULOUS. when questioned about the dress the 'Your Love' singer said 'This dress it the epitome of Pink Friday. This is the dress version of my album.'

Jada looks like amazing in this Emilio Pucci dress...Love the metal breastplate; proof that style hurts!
Not to be outdone by her mother Willow rocks a unique get-up which is not my cup of tea but definitely credit for creativity!

Love Rihanna in this Elie Saab blood red gown...and the curly hair is LUSH!

Mrs. Brand is stunning in Badgley Mischka

Fergie is not usually on the best dressed list but this dress by Asian designers Falguni and Shane is my fave of the night!

X Factor Fashion Week 7

Week 7 of the the X factor and we're down to the final 7! This week was Beatles week and unfortunately Dannii lost her 3rd boy; Paige. I'm not the biggest Paige fan but I am outraged that somebody with actual talent has been booted off AGAIN and the Brazilian pervert Wagner is still in. I can still see the funny side of keeping Wagner in but is getting to the point where he needs to go before any of my favourites are kicked off!

Got to shout out to Katie and her hair cut - LOVE IT

Shes gone from Gaga wannabe to a Classy looking tinker-bell - That is a step up for sure!

Style Showdown

Saturday

Love Love Love this dress Cheryl! The straight hair is definitely a good look!

Brown, long and ill-fitting. What were you thinking Dannii? On the plus side the hair and make up looked LUSH!

Sunday

This Grecian Bodyamr dress oozes elegance but Cheryl had to go on ruin it by taking hairstyle tips from Whitney in EastEnders... Trying to go back to you Council Estate roots Miss. C?

Another beautiful black dress from Ms Minogue... but so so so boring!
Cheryl's dress on Saturday is my favourite of the weekend for sure! Her gown on Sunday was fabulous if only her hair was too! Cheryl seriously needs to re-evaluate her hair stylist. Last week Minnie Mouse and this week a Chav?!

Dannii this week you were a bit of a let down - Cheryl's still in the lead at 4-2!

X Factor Fashion - week 6

Sorry for the delay guys! As you can probably see from my previous post, the last few days have been CRAZY!

Let's cut to the chase.

Katie was in the bottom 2 AGAIN. Simon made the wrong decision AGAIN. And Aiden was booted off!

As it was my first fashion show this weekend I was unable to watch the episodes so my judgement on the outfits is purely at a glance!

Saturday

Danni looks like a Grecian Goddess in this Carla Zampatti gown.

Cheryl shines in this gold Roberto Cavalli column dress.

Sunday

Cheryl aka Minnie Mouse. Enough said.

Leopard-print Emilia Wickstead jersey dress and Christian Louboutin pumps are a bit cas but Dannii still looks good!
Saturday night was a good night for out 2 lovely ladies. Both looked fabulous in their gowns. However Sunday was a different story all together, Cheryl's Mrs. Mouse look does not work and although Dannii did look a bit under dressed, she has proved sometimes simplicity works! The points in week 6 go to Danni so its 3 - 2 to Cheryl but Dannii is definitely back in the game!

Bella a la Mode's First Fashion Show - The Royal Court Hotel Wedding Exhibition

Its 5 in the morning and my alarm goes off - but it doesn't matter as I've been awake since 4am. Its the day of the Royal Court Hotels wedding exhibition and I'm styling the show!

Weeks of preparation in the run up to this one day. Casting models, choreographing, choosing music, picking outfits and matching jewellery. All for 4 minutes and 30 seconds on the catwalk!

I was given the opportunity to style and organise a fashion show showcasing the evening collection of Indian designer Arinder Bhuller. Arinder won the award for Best Wedding Collection at this years IAFA awards.

Her use of eastern design mixed with modern silhouettes is truly inspiring. After seeing many Asian fashion shows with similar concepts I wanted to create something different, with a western couture feel. I decided to go for a Gothic yet glamorous look with a GaGa-esque touch with the make-up. The beautiful and gifted Ritika Kher was the make-up artist for the show. Her creativity when putting together the looks was uniquely astounding - this Girl has an imagination like no other!

Together we were able to bring the vision to life, accessorizing the bold outfits with lace, pearls and lots of bling. Choosing an instrumental version with backing vocals of Lady Gaga's Pokerface was the perfect sound for the models to strut their stuff too (remix done by the super talented DJ Rugrat)

With the help of my amazing team (big shout out to Jasmin Patel, Rammah Sharma and Ashni Parikh) the show was an amazing success :-)

X Factor Fashion Week 5

Forget X Factor, Kylie Minogue has the SEX Factor...The 42 year old Australian looked FLAMIN' hot last night as she performed on the results show. Her beautiful Christian Louboutins sparkled on stage and even nearly managed to distract us from her slip up!

Matt was by far the star of the show this weekend, his beautiful version of 'The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face' had everybody gob smacked and in tears! Definitely deserved the standing ovation from all 4 judges!

Cheryl chickened out of choosing between Katie and Treyc as both of her acts were in the bottom two! Treyc was the 5th to be kicked off as Louis and Simon both chose to save Katie.

Cheryl may have lost one of her girls but does she win this weeks points in the Style Showdown....?

Saturday
Dannii looks like a Christmas tree bauble in the this gold unflattering Philip Armstrong dress

Cheryl in her fail safe black...Again. This Pucci dress is hot but not too sure about the head gear!

Sunday

YES YES YES! love this asymmetrical gold Bodyamr dress on Cheryl

This D&G corset dress is stunning but nowhere near daring enough!
Both judges did tried and tested black on one night and attempted to add a bit of sparkle with gold on another. Dannii's Saturday night dress was all wrong and because of this I have to give this weeks points to Miss C... Cheryl you're 3-1 up!

Cut it out...

'Cut out' dresses were one of summers biggest trends, and as the party season approaches the style is everywhere. Cut out is one of the trickiest trends to pull of, looking tasteful not tacky is the key!

I absolutely love this trend and wore a red cut out dress from Gorgeous Couture on my birthday back in May!
I kept the length of the dress pretty long to go with the cut out midriff part - what do you think? (do excuse the blackberry in my hand - I really don't go anywhere without it!)

celebs are loving this cheeky way to flash some flesh too....

My favourite gossip girl Leighton rocks the cut out trend!

AnnaLynn McCord: black and cut out is HOT

The Hills girls Audrina and Kristin: one sleeved and cut out, two trends in one - LOVE IT!

The Saturdays' Frankie - Not too sure about cut outs on your bum?!

Asos.com have the best selection of cut out dresses, here's my faves...
